Mark Hallam BVetMed MRCVS
Mark graduated from The Royal Veterinary College in 1983 and moved back to Sheffield in 1984. Together with the other Partners he is responsible for the smooth running of the practice. Medical cases make up the majority of his workload these days. Away from work Mark prefers the great outdoors.
Phil Tricklebank BVetMed CertVC MRCVS
Phil graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 1998 and joined Hallam Veterinary Centre in the same year. He has two children, Jack and Evie, and loves all things outdoors – walking, climbing and mountain biking with his children and wife Sarah. Phil gained the Certificate in Veterinary Cardiology in 2009 and, as well as performing duties in general practice, he will see cardiac referrals from Hallam Vets and local practices.
Lee Roberts BVM&S MRCVS
Lee qualified from Edinburgh University in 1996 and joined the practice straight away. After a couple of years off to see the world, he rejoined in 2001. His interests are mainly surgical; soft tissue and orthopaedics including titanium wedge tibial tuberosity advancement for treatment of cruciate ligament injuries. Outside of work Lee enjoys walking his dogs, Henry and George, martial arts, cycling and outdoor pursuits.
Abi Burns BVM&S MRCVS
Abi qualified from Edinburgh in 2008. She spent two and a half years working in Matlock in Derbyshire, with farm and small animals, before joining us in May 2011. Abi is interested in all aspects of small animal work but particularly likes surgery. She enjoys exploring the Peaks with her two yellow labradors, Maggie and Cassie.
Simon Corlett BVSc BSc PhD MRCVS
Simon qualified from Bristol University in 1994 and joined the practice in 1997. His main veterinary interests are surgical, both orthopaedic and soft tissue. Simon is married with 3 children and the family currently includes a dog and a cat. Outside work Simon’s interests include surfing, running, cycling, canoeing and martial arts.
Lucy Wiegand VetMB MA MRCVS
Lucy qualified from Cambridge University in 1993 and joined the practice in 1997. She divides her time between operating at the Hillsborough branch and consulting at the Crookes branch. Lucy is a keen cyclist and fell runner and can often be found taking part in local competitions along with her two sons.
Billy Stuart BVETMED MRCVS
Billy qualified from the Royal Veterinary College in 2014 and joined the team straight away. He spent two years prior to graduating on placement with us. Billy is particularly interested in internal medicine amongst other aspects of small animal practice. He enjoys playing football, walking and watching sports.
Vicky Ironside VetMB MA CertVC MRCVS
Vicky qualified from Cambridge University in 1989 and gained a Certificate in Veterinary Cardiology in 1997. She works within a small number of practices within South Yorkshire and Derbyshire where she sees cardiology cases, both first opinion and referrals from other practices. Vicky joins us here at Hallam Vets on a Monday and Friday.
Sarah Kenyon RVN
Sarah joined the practice in 2005 having qualified 2 years previously. Sarah is Head Nurse and particularly enjoys surgery and Nurse consults. In her spare time Sarah enjoys spending time with her family and her dog, Hartley.
Laura France RVN
Laura joined the practice in 2002 and qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2012. She is particularly interested in feline medicine. Laura enjoys looking after her 3 cats, Phoebe, Joey and Annie, and her 2 dogs, Bud and Meg.
Vicky Bower RVN
Vicky has been working here at Hallam Vets since 2001. She qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2007 and gained her A1 certificate in 2009, allowing her to help other trainee nurses gain their qualifications. In her spare time Vicky enjoys dancing and spending quality time with her family and friends. She is also the owner of 3 very lovable felines named Cider, Flo and Teddy. Vicky loves being with animals and couldn’t imagine having any other career.
Laura Mann RVN
Laura has been at Hallam since 2006, qualified in 2013 and gained her assessors certificate in the same year. She enjoys all aspects of the job, especially feline medicine and intensive care nursing. In her spare time Laura enjoys being at home in the countryside with her horse Magic, chickens and ducks as well as taking care of her 2 rescue cats Madeleine and Sophie.
Rebecca Fletcher RVN
Rebecca joined the practice in 1997, straight from school. She qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in 2002 and continued to work at the practice until becoming a full time mum in 2004. Rebecca returned to the practice in 2007 as a receptionist until 2013 when she began nursing again. She now has 3 beautiful girls so she is kept very busy but the family enjoy walking and trips away in their caravan.
Carrie began nursing in 1997 and qualified in 2000. Carrie joined the team in 2004. She has 3 cats, all of which came in as strays. In her spare time, Carrie enjoys reading and spending time with her friends and family.
Sarah Ronksley RVN
Sarah joined the practice in 1998 and has been a qualified veterinary nurse for over 15 years. Sarah enjoys all aspects of nursing, especially intensive care and also has a keen interest in our wildlife patients. When not at work, she is kept busy by bringing up her two children and looking after her many animals on her smallholding.
Ellon Watt RVN
Ellon graduated with a Degree in Veterinary Nursing and promptly joined the practice in 2014. Ellon has a keen interest in feline medicine and geriatric care. In her spare time, Ellon enjoys baking and exploring the countryside. She has two cats, Gremlin and Oscar.
Beki joined the practice in 2013 with a Veterinary Assistant Diploma and over 10 years experience. She is now working towards her Veterinary Nursing Diploma and hopes to qualify in 2017. In her spare time Beki enjoys looking after her 6 dogs who love to take her on a walk, spending time with friends and family, going out on her motorbike and watching the ice hockey.
Laura joined the practice in January 2013. She is interested in all aspects of veterinary work, especially feline care. Laura has started in-house training towards a qualification in Veterinary Nursing. In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her cats and two rabbits, Bella and Luna.
Jackie has been with the practice for many years now and works as our practice co-ordinator. She can usually be found at the main branch in Hillsborough where she deals with the day to day practicalities of running a veterinary surgery. In her own time Jackie enjoys spending time with her family, her horses (Aladdin and Jack), her dogs (Skip and Missy) and Nibbles and Jumpy the guinea pigs.
Julie joined the practice in 2013 bringing with her over 25 years experience in customer service. She has 2 cats of her own, Charlie and Jiggsy, who are spoilt rotten!
Wendy is a receptionist at the branch practice in Crookes. She has been with the practice since 2011. When not at work, Wendy enjoys her busy family life, bringing up her 2 young sons.
Kim started working at Hallam Vets, Crookes branch, in July 2006 as a receptionist. Over the years she has owned dogs, cats, hamsters, rabbits, ferrets, a tortoise, goldfish, tropical fish and stick insects.
Lynne is a receptionist at the main branch in Hillsborough. When not at work, Lynne enjoys spending time with her grandchildren.
